AIAA is a national and international network of organisations and artists involved with Indonesian and Asia Pacific cultural exchange and the promotion of multiculturalism.
AIAA’s vision is:
-promoting Asia Pacific cultures throughout Australia
-creating new pathways for artists to share their culture in Australia
-creating an open forum for cross-fertilisation of ideas between people of all disciplines involved with Indonesian and Asia Pacific cultures.

AIAA was founded by Judith Shelley in May 1998.
– AIAA was founded in 1998 for the purpose of international cultural exchange between Australia and Indonesia and over the years has expanded to create Asia Pacific cultural exchange and promote multiculturalism.
– From 2000 – 2024 AIAA has sponsored over 35 international visitors to undertake cultural exchange projects in Australia from the Asia Pacific Region, especially Indonesia and Solomon Islands
– AIAA has established an Asia Pacific Team and has undertaken projects with Asia Pacific from 2018-2024
– AIAA Asia Pacific has coordinated regular cultural exchange projects between 2018-2024
– AIAA members have participated in Ethno Solomons Music Camps in Australia, Solomon Islands and New Zealand between 2018-2024
– has established a Melbourne office at Braybrook in Melbourne and undertakes cultural activities in Melbourne, Victoria and nationally across Australia
– AIAA was originally established in Byron Bay NSW and continues to undertake cultural activities across the NSW North Coast Region
– activities have taken cultural visitors to nearly every state of Australia including NSW, Qld, Victoria, SA, Tasmania, WA and ACT
– has proven capacity in sponsoring, supporting and coordinating residencies and cultural tours of visiting international artists including travel, accom, ground transport, event management, food and per diems
– AIAA members and musicians have also participated in cultural exchange projects in Indonesia, NZ, Taiwan, Pacific and India
– presented a wide variety of events such as 15 years of multicultural festivals, music residencies, concerts, school performances and workshops, fundraising events, major festival performances such as 40 musicians and dancers presenting the Kecak Performance at Woodford Folk Festival, art and photography exhibitions etc
– has experience in capacity building – undertook 6 years of Work for the Dole Projects in event management, website design, graphic design radio presenting etc
