Congratulations Emma and Efik

Congratulations are in order for AIAA members Emma Andrews from Gamelan Swara Naga and Gamelan Giri Jaya and Efik Zulfikar from Krakatau and SambaSunda. They were recently married in Bandung at a simple Muslim ceremony at the mosque at Ciga Nitri.

Emma and Efik met while Emma was in Bandung studying music at STSI Bandung. Emma went to Bandung in 2000 with Kym Hall to study kendang, suling, kecapi and gamelan and were invited to rehearse and perform with well-known percussion gamelan fusion group SambaSunda. Emma and Kym became close friends with many of the local musicians in Bandung, including Efik.

This magical match was truly made in heaven. Emma and Efik have now joyfully become one and we wish them every joy, love, and success in their life together.
