Hari Nyepi on the Gold Coast

Some AIAA members had a chance to get together recently and some members also performed at the Balinese Hari Nyepi celebrations on the Gold Coast.

The Balinese Community presented a wonderful array of music and dance performances, as well as a beautiful meal. Speeches by Mr Greg Vickery, Honorary Consul for Queensland, and other guests were also heard.

AIAA members who performed on the night included Ibu Vera and the Indonesia Dance Group Gold Coast, Gamelan Giri Jaya from Toowoomba and a wonderful Rampak Kendang performance by Wahyu Roche, AIAA musician-in-residence with Gamelan girls Kym Hall and Emma Andrews.
