Romantic's and Relax Meditation - Bayu Wirawan
Bayu Wirawan is the Craziest Jazz Pianist - self-named, self-produced, recorded and promoted, Bayu is the quintessential multi-talented artiste. A unique creative talent which flows through his fingers racing around the keys as jazz pianists do; Bayu Wirawan is first and foremost a jazz musician and yet even in compositions which are pure jazz, Bayu's Indonesian soul shines through. Working with piano, guitars, drum kit, gamelan, wayang kulit and any number of varied instruments and art forms, Bayu creates a mystical soundscape which captures not only the attention, but the inner spiritual ear of the listener.
Having had limited previous experience of jazz myself, Bayu Wirawan has helped me grow to love this form of acquired taste music. Now having cut my teeth on Indonesian Jazz, I am wondering if I will be able to experience the same feeling of connectedness with Australian Jazz. Being an Indonesiaphile(a lover of all things Indonesian) - from way back, the smell of kretek and the sound of the swaying bamboo bridge - the atmosphere of Indonesia, which comes through in Bayu's music is enough to set my soul dancing.
Sensitive, passionate, gentle, dramatic, flowing, romantic - this music is just GREAT! Thank you Jazz Master!
