Teatre Orok is holding a performance festival here in Bali at Udayana Kampus, Jalan Sudirman, Denpasar Bali ( Near Matahari). The event is organised by Teatre Orok and the students of Udayana fetauring theatre, poetry, performance art and films.

Performance Festival Denpasar
17 - 23rd March. The students of Udayana and Teatre Orok are running a performance festival at the Sudirman Campus near Matahari in Denpasar. All nights form 7 pm. Gamelan Weekend
The Wesleyan University Music Department extends an invitation to the New England Gamelan Weekend, a meeting of performers, scholars, and composers of Indonesian Gamelan Music, April 19-21st, Wesleyan University, Middletown CT, USA. Attendance is free. Conference participants receive free admission to the Friday and Sunday evening ticketed wayang events. Lunch meals provided. Group rates available at local hotels.

The Indonesian Satay Festival 2002
The Indonesian Satay Festival 2002, presented by Perwira, The Indonesian Society of Victoria Incorporated,(Perhimpunan Warga Indonesia di Victoria Incorporated), was held at Box Hill Town Hall, Box Hill, early May.
There were stands with a variety of satays and supplementary dishes from different Indonesian regions. There were books, magazines on Indonesia, and many interesting stalls. People were entertained with traditional Indonesian dance performances and music. One lucky attendee won a return airfare ticket to Indonesia, donated by Garuda Indonesia.

A famous folk story from Padang, West Sumatra. PPIA Victoria presents: an Indonesian Cultural Show on Thursday, 2 May 2002 : 11am - 1 pm. Held at Camberwell Civic Centre.
An explosive performance including: Kecak Dance, Plate Dance, Shadow Puppets, Dayak Dance, Yapong Dance, Pencak Silat, Oleg Dance, Batak Dance and more. An Exhibition of Indonesian Food, Arts & Crafts.

Topeng in Bali: Mask - Ritual - Dance
Topeng is a Balinese form of dance drama in which one or more dancers wear masks and perform stories concerning semi-mythical kings.
A free public performance and media presentation by doctoral student Carmencita Palermo, on Wednesday 29 May at 6.30 pm in the Sir Raymond Ferrall Centre, Univerity of Tasmania, Launceston Campus.

L’Alternativa-IX Independent Film Festival of Barcelona
Calls for entries for the film festival. Deadline is 31 July 2002.
L’Alternativa’s aim is to establish a platform for the promotion and distribution of films, which for their innovative character are unable to find a way into main exhibition and distribution circuits. The Festival will take place from 15th - 23rd November 2002. L’Alternativa is calling for films in the following sections: Feature Film, Documentary Film, Short Film, and Animation Film.
